The extension of an existing 19th Century colonial villa located on a beautiful site facing the Nile, to provide a new entrance hall, reception, registration and security facilities.
The project also included the refurbishment of, and extension to, existing teaching facilities, library, offices and staff accommodation together with the creation of a new Knowledge and Learning Centre. The works were phased to allow the British Council to continue operating throughout the contract.
In addition to the above, we also created a new external café and canopy to the rear of the building; and a new garden was created by ‘celebrity’ garden designer Dan Pearson, for which Gaunt Francis acted as liaison between client, designer and contractor.
