Our scheme proposed a development framework across the whole estate which sought to significantly improve all public realm elements; introduce greater permeability and accessibility throughout the estate, and to replace the significant but vacant office buildings with a mixed use office and residential development.
In addition, we proposed a 23 storey new build elliptical tower in the centre of the estate, to help create the funding necessary to carry out the public realm works, as well as providing a critical mass of new residential accommodation.
CABE, the GLA and the Pool of London Partnership all supported the proposals. Some 180 new build residential apartments were proposed, together with a new build 200,000 Sq ft office building and the creation of various other conversions and mixed use schemes around the docks.
